Depending on your prior educational and work experience background, review of the material may take you longer than the estimated time.

Do I have to be an RHIA exam candidate to take the courses?
No. These courses are not intended to be a review for the RHIA certification exam, though alot of the content may be helpful with the more challenging areas of the RHIA exam. Anyone may take these courses. As an RHIA, you may find these courses helpful and fun as a "refresher." If you are a RHIT, you may also enjoy taking the courses to test your knowledge. All individuals who obtain a 70% or higher score on the test will obtain CEs.

Do I have to be an OHIMA member to take the courses?
No. All OHIMA online courses are available at same price to members and non-members.

Do I have to take PART 1 before I take PART 2?
No, PART 1 and 2 differ in content area and are two distinct courses. You may take PART 2 only or prior to PART 1 if you desire. Obviously taking both parts offers you a more comprehensive self-assessment.

Registration/Payment

Can I pay by check instead of credit card?
No, only credit cards are accepted. By using your Visa or MC, you gain immediate course assess. This includes the course information, test, test results and CEs if you pass the test. Feasibly, you could sign-on, register, take the course and obtain your CEs all in the same day - at any time!

Is it safe to send my credit card number over the Internet?
Yes, absolutely due to our secure server. Our secure server software encrypts all of your personal information including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. The encryption process takes the characters you enter and converts them into bits of code that are securely transmitted over the Internet.

How do I know my information is secure?
Depending on which browser you use, you will either see a little yellow lock in the bottom right corner of your screen (Internet Explorer), or you will see the lock close on the top tool bar on your screen (Netscape).

After inputting my credit card information, why do I get a message about the security certificate asking if I'd like to proceed?
The area for entering private credit card information is accessed off of the secure100.telusys.net server, which is a secure server. OHIMA uses this server as part of our agreement with Telusys, thus saving the annual fee to obtain our own digital certificate. Therefore, a message may appear stating that "the name on the security certificate does not match the name of the site." As explained, it is because we are using the Telusys secure server instead of our own.

Will I be charged each time I re-enter the course?
No, simply re-enter the course using your username and password.
