Advanced Medical Terminology

SUMMARY
This advanced medical terminology course will build on knowledge gained in the Basic Terminology Course. You will learn terminology associated with diseases and procedures by body system and/or disease process. Terminology for coding tips is a special section of this course meant to identify common medical terminology synonyms which will ultimately assist in better locating diseases and procedures in the ICD-9-CM index.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Learn medical terms for diseases and procedures by body system: endocrine, blood & lymph, nervous, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urinary & reproductive, integumentary, and musculoskeletal.
Learn alternate medical terms for the same diseases and procedures.
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS NEEDED
Access to the Internet with a 33.6 or higher modem speed.
Access to a printer to print out the tables included in this lesson OR 3"x5" index cards and marker in order to make flashcards.
