E-Health Foundations

SUMMARY

E-Health refers to the application of the Internet and its related technologies to the healthcare industry for improved efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of clinical and business processes within and between organizations, and with patients and consumers.

This online course is designed for HIM professionals to increase their knowledge base of e-health and to help posture them for future career opportunites.

The course material will cover:
         1. History of the Internet
         2. Terminology
         3. Applications and Business Models
         4. Supporting Information Technologies
         5. E-HIM

In addition, references to multiple e-health Web sites are included to enhance the learning and application of e-health concepts.
