COURSE DESCRIPTION
Diagnostic coding in the home health setting is challenging for both the beginner coder and the veteran coder. This coding course is designed to supplement the Basic ICD-9-CM: Introduction to Coding online course and provide the coding guidelines pertinent to the home health setting.
Through the use of real case scenarios specific to home health services, you will learn how apply correct coding techniques. Coding compliance is focused throughout this course by following the proper coding guidelines.
OBJECTIVES
At the completion of this course, you will be able to:
Understand coding rules that apply to home health coding.
Gain insight into the home health case mix methodology process.
Understand the steps taken to establish the Health Insurance Prospective Payment System (HIPPS) codes.
