Course Description: Interventional Radiology Coding

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide you with a step-by-step process to learn what interventional radiology is all about and how the coding rules are applied in the hospital setting.
Through the use of real case examples, you will learn how to correctly code basic to comprehensive procedures, including the use of modifier codes. Angiographies will be studied in-depth, along with angioplasty, stenting and embolization procedures. Corresponding ICD-9-CM coding will also be included.
OBJECTIVES
At the completion of this course, you will be able to:
Understand coding rules that apply to interventional radiology procedures.
Assign codes and modifiers appropriately to interventional radiology procedures.
Evaluate your skills through the use of real case examples and by completing competency questions pertaining to materials throughout the course and on the final self-assessment exam.
