The 30th OHIMA Annual Meeting & Trade Show held March 22-24, 2010 was a huge success with over 700 attendees and 76 exhibitor booths. The meeting featured three days of fun and education at the elegant Hilton Columbus Hotel adjacent to Easton Town Center in northeast suburban Columbus. OHIMA President Paula Warren, RHIA presided over the meeting.

Thank you to the Annual Meeting programming committee led by Directors Anne Casto, RHIA, CCS and Lauree Handlon, RHIA, CCS. Anne and Lauree spent countless volunteer hours searching for and securing speakers which comprised the wide variety of topics offered throughout the meeting.

Thanks also to Jean Stevens, RHIT, CCS-P who coordinated the doctors to share their clinical expertise to the 336 who attended Wednesday's Coding session.

There were many special events in honor of our 30th anniversary. The meeting kicked off with a special raffle drawing. Kelly Ann Hartnett, RHIA, Director at Fulton County Health Center was the lucky winner who will receive free OHIMA Annual Meeting Registration for the Next 30 Years!

Jane Lach was invited to the meeting as OHIMA's special guest. Jane was the OHIMA President in 1980 and shared her memories from the first OHIMA Annual Meeting.

OHIMA Achievement Awards were presented at the Annual Awards luncheon on Monday, March 22, 2010. Congratulations to the following award winners:

Distinguished Member: Laurie Rinehart-Thompson, JD,RHIA,CHP

Professional Achievement: Cathy Moore, RHIA, RAC-CT

Ambassador to Education: Mardi Davis, RHIT
