2009 Annual Meeting Highlights

The OHIMA Annual Meeting & Trade Show held March 9-11, 2009 proved to be a record-setting year with a total of 734 attendees and 88 booths. The meeting featured three days of fun and education at the elegant Hilton Columbus Hotel adjacent to Easton Town Center in northeast suburban Columbus. OHIMA President Cathy Moore, RHIA, RAC-CT presided over the meeting.

Thank you to the Annual Meeting programming committee led by Directors Jan Kelly, RHIA, CCS and Anne Casto, RHIA, CCS for coordinating the wide variety of topics and speakers for the meeting. Speaker evaluations were very favorable, scoring an overall 4.4 out of 5.

The Exhibit Hall was held Tuesday and Wednesday, March 10-11 and featured exciting HIM/HIT products and services from a diverse showing of 88 booths.

OHIMA Achievement Awards were presented at the Annual Awards luncheon on Monday, March 9, 2009. Congratulations to the following recipients:


DISTINGUISHED MEMBER AWARD

Carol Osborn, Ph.D., RHIA receives the Distinguished Member Award. As OHIMA’s highest honor, Carol is recognized for her exceptional leadership and service to the HIM profession throughout her career.




PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Paula Warren, RHIA receives the Professional Achievement Award for her leadership qualities and numerous achievements in health information management.




AMBASSADOR TO EDUCATION AWARD

Deborah Brown, RHIT receives the Ambassador to Education Award for her significant contributions to Ohio’s Health Information Administration and Technology programs.
