Executive Board Members and Attendees: Carrie
Wright-Secretary, Gail Smith, University of Cincinnati liaison, June Bronnert,
and Candy Grannis, Network Director, Dianne Lindner, Treasurer, Carrie Birkle
and Karen Salchli met.
- GCHIMA
will retain its current structure of board with officer positions elected
by the membership.
- There
will continue to be two annual workshops in the Spring and Fall months
with a fee per workshop to be determined by the board.
- Membership
will no longer require membership forms.
- Bylaws
will be amended (upon vote approval of membership) to change the President
and President-Elect positions from a one-year term to two-year terms.
- The
GCHIMA scholarship will be awarded $1000 each to Cincinnati State and
University of Cincinnati for their HIM programs. Each program chair will
report how the money was spent.
- Candy
will contact Carla Nadeja for the Microsoft Word file of the GCHIMA bylaws.
- Brenda
Cox will serve as the new Secretary of GCHIMA.
- Dianne
Lindner will continue her 2nd year of term as Treasurer.
- Once
the bylaws are updated and approved, Carrie Wright will notify OHIMA to
update the GCHIMA website with the new bylaws.
- GCHIMA
communication will be handled solely through the e-mail blast and website
developed by OHIMA.
- Fall
2007 Workshop Plan:
- Workshop
is scheduled for Saturday, September 15th from 8 am – 1 pm.
- Gail
will write the meeting agenda for the Fall 2007 Workshop.
- Carrie
Birkle will acquire the door prizes for the Fall 2007 Workshop.
- Dianne
will buy raffle tickets for the Fall 2007 Workshop.
- Joanne
Blackwell will type up the Continuing Education form for the Fall 2007
Workshop.
- Joanne
Blackwell, Tina Schumacher, and Sue Blind-Suttmiller will lead issue
groups, with help from students.
- Martha
Fowler and Tiffany Wells will handle food, refreshments, and clean up.
- Carrie
Birkle will design nametags.
- June
will design survey to ask membership’s input on future workshops.
- Seek
local managers to attend workshop to give update on current events in
their facilities.
- Workshop
theme will be Issue Groups/Panel Discussion of “What’s New?” in HIM.
- AHIMA and OHIMA update.
- Table talk among issue groups with a representative who will
then recap the discussion.
- Dianne will develop a plan to divvy up attendees into
groups.
- Next
board meeting will be held July 17th with the location yet to
be determined to plan next election ballot and to plan the 2008 Spring
Workshop.
