Strategic Planning Meeting

Executive Board Members: Pam
Greenstone, President-Elect, Carla Nadeja- President, Susan Schehr-Past
President, June Bronnert-Treasurer, Carrie Newport-Secretary, and Gail Smith,
University of Cincinnati liaison, Candy Grannis, Theresa Hooker and Glenda
Denson-both co-President-Elects for 2005-2006 met to discuss the state of the
association and reengineering. The following
topics were discussed:
- Carla
is currently revising and updating our bylaws as necessary. Some bylaws
will be relocated to a Procedure section for simplification and some due
dates will be removed.
- Board
members reviewed the purpose of GCHIMA. Brainstormed on if we are meeting
our purpose and ways to continue to achieve the purpose of the
association.
- We
provide an exchange of ideas at meetings through round table discussions
and/or an environmental scan.
- Theresa
and Glenda discussed upcoming meeting topic ideas.
- Decision
made that GCHIMA will no longer pay for Cincinnati State students’ AHIMA
dues, but GCHIMA dues will remain free.
- The
J.M. Gray Scholarship will now be called the GCHIMA Scholarship, and may
be presented to up to 2 student members in GCHIMA totally $500 per
scholarship recipient.
- The
bylaws will be revised concerning the scholarship changes.
- The
membership forms will be revised to ask how members prefer to receive
association news; mail or e-mail.
- Association
meetings will continue to be held at Drake Center for upcoming 2005-2006
year.
- Meeting
adjourned.
