Executive Board Meeting

November 2004

Executive Board Members: Pam Greenstone, President-Elect, Carla Nadeja- President, Susan Schehr-Past President, June Bronnert-Treasurer, Carrie Newport-Secretary met to discuss the upcoming educational meetings. The following topics were discussed:

• There are a lot of Cincinnati State students this year. Their AHIMA dues amount to more money than we are collecting in membership dues. GCHIMA will no longer pay for students’ AHIMA dues, but GCHIMA membership will continue to be free to students.
• A GCHIMA officer will be representing the association at the OHIMA annual meeting next year. Carla will get more details on this from Amy before we know how many of us will have to attend.
• Should we continue to give $500 scholarships to students?
• We possibly will make revisions to bylaws so that the scholarship can benefit members as well. We would like to give 2-$250 scholarships instead of one $500.
• The scholarship essay will be required to be summarized and shared with members.
• Discussed possible Spring Workshop presenters.
• We might not have a January meeting due to winter weather.
• Martha brought flyers for the new UC HIM Bachelor’s degree program to be available during meeting.
• Amy Roberson from Office Team gave out pens and brochures.
