    Welcome to the Greater Cincinnati Health Information Management Association (GCHIMA) website. The purpose of the GCHIMA is to provide education, a forum for the exchange of ideas and information, and a means of providing input on the state and national level through collaborations with Ohio Health Information Management Association (OHIMA) and American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

    Important Message to our Membership
    Dear GCHIMA Member:

    We want to welcome you to the new GCHIMA. In order to maintain our association and meet the needs of our members we have made some changes. We hope that these changes will have a positive affect on GCHIMA and provide the opportunity for increased volunteerism from the members. As our bylaws state, our purpose is to promote the profession, provide the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with peers and to provide continuing education to our members.

    The format for the continuing education has changed from four meetings and a Spring Workshop in an association year, to two education workshops, one in the fall and the other in the spring. There will no longer be an annual dues payment for GCHIMA. Members will pay only for the workshop that they wish to attend. The workshops are scheduled for the following dates with meeting place to be determined.

      October 28th 8:00am – Noon
      April 21st 8:00am – Noon

    The agendas for the workshops containing all the necessary information will be placed on the OHIMA web site under the Regional Associations section.

    Additionally, the bylaws for GCHIMA will be updated to reflect the new plans and changes to the association’s structure. Once the bylaws have been revised they will be provided to the members for voting.

    The present GCHIMA Board is in place to mentor volunteers and transition into the new format. Under the new structuring, members volunteer to serve as Program Chairperson, Treasurer and Committee members and various duties. For more information please contact any current board member listed on our website. We hope that you will join us this year for the beginning of a new era for GCHIMA.
